Integral in the large scale migration between ad agencies, KC provided art direction for a high volume of on-site and off-site ads to agency partners in India, the UK, and in-house designers while mentoring junior designers and copywriters. Led campaign design and user experience by building brand pages, ads and emails – including wireframes, for a broad range of brands. Art directed photoshoots by building out preproduction and pitch decks for high profile clients. He also improved the production efficiency for advanced designers by building a modular wire-framed template system for ads, emails and brand pages in Adobe Illustrator.
(2016 – 2018) Senior Designer @ Nordstrom, Seattle, WA
Recipient of Nordstrom Marketing’s Dream Team Award – tasked with creation of all rich media, video, programmatic ads, paid social and interactive projects at Nordstrom Rack. Designed and developed highly successful integrated, multichannel digital campaigns including video ads, motion graphics, interactive, dynamic content, programmatic ads and social media ads for large campaigns boasting click through rates as high as 20%. Other duties included deliverables included motion video content for in-store. Art direction and creation of digital ads in many form factors and formats for digital publishers, ad distribution and social networks, dynamic creative and dynamic content optimization platforms like AdTheorent, GroundTruth, Google DoubleClick, RevJet, Verve, Viant, Bustle, Hearst Communications, Pandora, Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram to name a few. Acted as the technical art director on location and in studio for video shoots. Individually producing a staggering 1800+ deliverables in a single season (not including dynamic creatives). Kristian lead the digital team to considerable growth, soon hiring and directing additional designers and developers to support the creation programmatic ads, kiosks, social media and motion deliverables. Built mobile ad interfaces that leveraged Kin videos as part of 2017 Glossy Award for best use of video by a fashion brand. Personally acknowledged by Eric Nordstrom after the Nordstrom brothers doubled their take home earnings in 2017.

Plump was nominated as “Best Late-Night Collective” by Dope Magazine by leading the field in an emerging and constantly changing industry while growing the unique late-night niche it had created. This local, sustainable lifestyle brand ranked #1 in Google searches by executing a creative and marketing strategy leveraging a tightly integrated network of 10+ websites, online communities, menus, directories, ads, social and editorial content, user generated content and positive customer reviews to maximize SEO and brand exposure. Campaigns to drive sales and a growing consumer base provided invaluable real-time consumer feedback and metrics. My daily duties included; daily retail and admin operations, content creation, design and maintenance of websites, menus, directories and various social media channels, product and packaging design, budgeting and scheduling print and digital ads and campaigns, implement AdWords strategies, small scale farming, marketing, retail sales, customer service, customer relations management, online review moderation, scheduling and managing employees, and managing inventory and production. Property use and development necessitated creation and submission of architectural drawings and site plans to the Department of Planning and Development for the permitting of signage and expansion of the retail store.

“Visa’s Go World Campaign Generated More Than 28 Million Cheers Prior to London 2012 Olympic Games in 11 Weeks” assisted by Kristian’s animated takeover ads on the Amazon.com website. Kristian also drove traffic to partner products from Philips Norelco, Gear of War, TomTom and others thru branded, merchandised landing pages.
(2009 – 2011) Integrated Designer @ Publicis in the West, Seattle, WA
Created interactive game banners that were part of the Gold Effie Award® winning HomeAway “Hotel Hell” campaign which increased brand awareness by 333 percent. Kristian’s focus at Publicis in the West was to concept, design, and develop branded rich media campaigns, motion content, interactive advertising, social media content and websites for clients such as HomeAway, Chevrolet, Les Schwab, T-Mobile and Hewlett Packard.
(2006 – 2009) Digital Art Director @ Brooks Sports, Inc., Bothell, WA
Kristian’s efforts contributed to Brooks Sports Inc. delivering record earnings in 2007, up 39% from the previous year. Tasked with leading the design of the web, interactive, motion and video projects including; the redesign of the Brooksrunning.com eCommerce website “Rethinking a webstore,” creation of The Online Shoe Advisor, interactive home pages, social media content, video productions and photography. His other duties included scripting, shooting and editing viral and marketing videos, photography for online and print catalogs and advertising, creating live multimedia presentations, email marketing, building community websites and contributing to the design and art direction of print ads, catalogs and the Communication Arts award winning PR Mailer.
